The Dolphin E10 is for above ground pools for up to 30 feet in length/diameter.
It’s half the price of standard in-ground Dolphin pool cleaners but comes with most of their advanced features including smart navigation and active brushing.
If you are looking for a powerful and reliable above ground pool cleaner, the Dolphin E10 is something you should think about.
You can also use it in a small in-ground swimming pool but be warned as it does not scrub the walls.
If you have an in-ground pool, you are better off with something bigger and more powerful like the Dolphin Premier (read our updated review of the Dolphin Premier).
For above ground pool owners, the Dolphin E10 will do just fine.

Cleaning Ability
The only notable limitation of the Dolphin E10 is that it doesn’t climb walls. But then again, most above ground pool cleaners don’t.
But for the rest of the pool, which is just the floor, the E10 does excellent work.
Its primary attack tool is the active brush mounted at the front of the cleaner. It spins twice as fast as standard brushing, providing more scrubbing power against algae and calcification.
The E10 saves you the trouble of hand scrubbing your pool floor. Unfortunately, you still have to do the walls.
As it scrubs, the E10 vacuums the water through the fine filter.
But not all debris is trapped inside the filter basket. Maytronics sells the Dolphin E10 with a fine filter.
It is fine, no pun intended, against debris like leaves and bugs but leaves behind fine sand and dust. If you want thorough cleaning, you have to buy the ultra-fine filter separately.
If you struggle with windblown dust and sand in your pool, you have to spend extra on the ultra-fine filter.
At least it’s a top-load basket, so you don’t have to turn it over to remove it.
It’s also super easy to clean, unlike a filter bag. Just hose it down, and it’s ready to go back in.
How it Works
The Dolphin E10 has CleverClean navigation, which is somewhat surprising for an above ground pool cleaner.
It makes the robot more efficient and quicker in the pool. Instead of wandering around, it scans the pool layout and size and picks the best path.
No wonder it can clean an entire pool in just 1.5 hours.
The CleverClean system also ensures the robot doesn’t miss an inch.
Something else we love about the E10 and is not common in above ground cleaners are the treads. They provide better traction and mobility compared to wheels.
Too bad they cannot drive the robot up the wall.
