The Sun Joe SPX3000 is one of the most popular pressure washers on Amazon. It’s easy to see why. It offers plenty of features and excellent cleaning performance for a very affordable price.
It offers adequate pressure and flow rate for all kinds of cleaning jobs around the home. And with the multiple attachments included, you can customize the spray angle to the type of surface you are cleaning and the kind of dirt you are dealing with.

1. Adequate PSI and GPM for Domestic Use
The Sun Joe SPX3000 pressure washer is meant for home use, so it doesn’t come with some crazy figures found in commercial pressure washers.
The 2030 PSI pressure is powerful enough for any cleaning you need to do around the house, whether it’s cleaning the driveway or removing mold from the wall. It tackles everything from dust to years’ worth of stubborn grime.
The pressure is also enough for cleaning the concrete deck of a swimming pool or even inside the swimming pool when it’s empty. Don’t attempt to clean a full swimming pool with the pressure washer; it won’t work underwater. For that, you need an automatic pool cleaner.
The flow rate from the SPX3000 is 1.76 GPM. That’s fast enough to quickly rinse away dirt and detergent, but not too fast that you waste a lot of water when cleaning.
2. Onboard Detergent Tanks
The Sun Joe SPX3000 comes with two detergent tanks that you attach to the pressure washer. Each tank holds 0.9L (0.2 gals) of detergent.
Having two tanks gives you a couple of possibilities.
One, you can carry a lot more detergent. This is handy for intensive cleaning tasks that need plenty of detergents. Instead of constantly refilling a single tank, you can fill two tanks once.
Two, you can carry two kinds of detergents. If you plan to use the Sun Joe SPX3000 for different applications such as cleaning your car, washing the pavement, getting grease off your grill, and so on, each requires a different kind of detergent.
By adding two different detergents to the tanks, you can move from one cleaning job to another without pausing to add detergent.
A single dial controls how detergent is dispensed. Turn the knob to either side to choose which tank the detergent comes from. You can also set how much detergent is dispensed.
3. Total Stop System
Total Stop System is a safety feature built into the SPX3000. As soon as you release the trigger, the electric motor shuts down, and water stops spraying.
This prevents unintended spraying of water and protects the pump and motor from wearing out too soon.
4. Multiple Attachments
You can adjust the spray angle and width by interchanging between the included attachments. There are quick connect tips for 0, 15, 25, and 40 degrees. A fifth attachment is specifically for dispensing soap.
Attaching and removing the tips takes a couple of seconds, so you can quickly move from dispensing detergent to rinsing away dirt.
5. GFCI Plug
Because this is an outdoor tool that involves water, the manufacturer provides a safe GFCI plug. The plug protects you from shock in case water gets in where it’s not supposed to be.
The power cord is 35 feet long, giving you plenty of distance to work with.
Issues and Limitations
The biggest issue with bothered owners of the Sun Joe SPX3000 is that it gums up after weeks or months of not using it.
Sometimes it’s the nozzle that blocks; other times, it is the internal parts.
Thankfully, both have easy solutions. For the nozzle problem, do not store the pressure washer with the tip still attached. Remove the tip, wipe it dry, and then store it at the rear of the pressure washer where the other nozzles are.
One customer suggests using pressure washer pump lubricant to get the internal components moving again if that doesn’t work.
Many customers also say the manual is hard to understand and not very helpful. Fortunately, you can find a few videos on YouTube that can guide you in setting up the pressure washer.
